San Diego! San Diego! SAAAANNNN DIEGO!

SO...... As some of you may know I spent my winter term traveling a bit. I got to hit up Tahoe and Vegas but my main stop was San Diego! I LOVE San Diego! Honestly you can't get too much better than life in PB or close to the bay! Mostly cause it's warm! So while some of you we're shreddin Pow Pow I opted for the warmer version of happiness and got to ride with the Wakeboard San Diego and WakeDiva crews.

I feel very fortunate to have been able to go on this trip, mostly because my riding got soooo much stronger and more consistent. I was able to ride about 4 days a week, sometimes even two sessions a day! I got my Double Ups pretty consistent on the smaller WakeDiva boat and had strong set after strong set riding behind WBSD’s X2.

WakeBoard San Diego's Norway Boys

Also my SD roomie and I got to go to the Freeze ride in Carlsbad and after the LF rep proclaiming he's never even heard of a Russian Wakeboarder Olga got super into it and started riding all the time, super great since she hadn't even heard of it until January!
Carlsbad...

Olga bein shredtastic!

So, what I can offer you from my experience is just to go out there and ride, as much as you can, on different water, behind different boats and with different riders! And as always ask if you think there is something you can be doing differently. They're suggestions might not help, but than again they might make all the difference in the world. One from the WBSD guys changed my riding forever, so, ya never know…

Also while I was down there Kaileen and I got started on work for the Rail jam and Wake swap, we’re hoping this event will be goin off in late may so look forward to more on that!!
Happy riding guys! See everyone at the Koppert Spring Classic!

PROgression!

(pic left - The Trick Board. J.GilanFarr)

"Get your whole crew involved. Push Each other." Words from a Miss Jen GilanFarr in an article she wrote for alliance. The article emphasizes how important it is to always have somethin in your pocket to work on. It's a good reminder to always work on making your bag of tricks bigger.

Another thing I liked in the article was talking about if you don't get it right away don't stress it too much. I see so many people that spend a whole set working on ONE trick and they end up gettin bent the whole day. Don't give up too easy but "If your not feeling it move on to another one on your list. (J. GilanFarr)"

On a side note outside of Jen's article, I got ride in Carlsbad Lagoon for their Freeze Ride this weekend. And yes, for SoCal, it was pretty cold but Nicole, Olga and I got to ride with Liquid Forces SoCAL rep, the whole day he was all "Once you got it solid reg go do it switch." Just makes a good point, ride switch, ride it often and have some fun!!

Wakeboardin in Key Biscayne, Florida

Last week I was hanging out in Miami, FL for a family event and had a chance to get behind a boat with Marcos Moran of Gator Bait Wakeboard School. I spent the entire morning on Key Biscayne, behind Marcos' 2009 Super Air Nautique 230 Team Edition. The bay was calm, and, needless to say, as warm as bath water. I was totally stoked on the wake, the water, and Marcos' driving and coaching. Marcos has been a rider for fifteen years, a coach for twelve, and a professional tournament driver since 2005. He worked with me on nailing my ollie 180's and working on HS and TS 180's. Toward the end of my ride, Marcos had me throwing tantrums, my first invert attempts. I have to say, going inverted is a lot less frightening and way more fun than I expected. I threw about eight before smacking and slicing open my thumb on my board's edge and thought that was a good way to end the day.

After helping me hose the saltwater off my gear, Marcos gifted me a couple t-shirts, courtesy of Gator Bait. My favorite of the two, black with white text: "I [heart] to pee in my wetsuit." I don't know if I'd claim to love the act, but it's a classic t-shirt nonetheless. If you're ever in the Miami area and itching to get a ride in, give Marcos a call. I had a great time hanging out on his boat and made a lot of progress in just a few hours.

Another rad summer!

yoyo hows everyones summer so far? mines been crazy with several head injuries, trying to ride 3-4 times a week and competition every other weekend it seems like. I took a pretty gnarlly fall at WA INT State Championships a couple weekends ago putting me out of riding for 2 weeks. I got careless, caught the toe of my board and face planted knocking me out and when i came to, i had a bloody nose and gnarlly ear pain. yup this would be severe concussion number 4:( but its a part of the game...go big or go home right!?! well its been 2 weeks and I am back out on the water. Working on some new tricks, HS 3's and trying to grab eveything, hoping to step in up a level for my upcoming competition M-Town Throwdown held Sept 12th in Memphis, TN.

Other than that, life has been pretty good! Took a set with Kaileen Johnson yesterday from the OR coast. Shes ripping it wakesurfing and competing at the NW Wakesurf Open today on Lake Sammamish! I plan on competing in NW Novice Championships today at Koppert Lake is the weather permits. A couple of upcoming competitions for me: M-Town Throwdown Sept 12th at Mud Island on the Mississippi River, INT Western Regionals Oct 2-4th in CA, and Fall Classic Oct 17th at Koppert Lake.

If your ever in the Seattle area let me know. I can find us a boat if your up for riding! Hope to see everyone at Fall Classic in October! Its all about having fun:)

2009 NW Competiton results and info

Whats up ladies! Sorry its been so long but its been hella busy here in Seattle. Girls are killing it wakeboarding, skating, and wakesurfing on Lake Sammamish, Washington, and Stevens this summer. Now thats what I'm talking about!

Summer competition recap:

July Aquafest was held on Lake Stevens and we had 12 female competitors splitting it into 2 divisions, Novice and Intermediate. woot woot ladies are stepp'n it up!! It was a successful event thanks to Grass Roots Outdoors out of Everett, WA. Check them out if your up that way!

August we have had 2 events so far, WA INT State Champions at Bow Lake and Free Riders Ball at Koppert Lake.

WA INT State Champions in the Beginner female division is Tricia DeMarco, Novice division is Priscilla Stultz aka PC, and Wakeskate division is Casey Stone. Check out the Western Regionals INT competition www.intleague.com for more information on when and where.

Free Riders Ball was another huge turn out in the female division with 9 riders. If I remember correctly, we had the biggest division at the competition! NW4 definitely represented with stickers from www.diecutstickers.com and tank tops. This competition is always fun! If you didnt make it, Fall Classic is Oct 17th so you definitely have time to practice, get off from work, oe whateves so NO excuses this time!

As I write, NW Wakesurf Open is going on at Vasa Park on Lake Sammamish. I was out yesterday with a handful of girls practicing and it looked like the female division was pretty stacked! Not gonna lie, I can't even toss the handle haha. Good Luck ladies!

Also another event happening today is NW Novice Championships at Koppert Lake. I am heading down as soon as I get off from work to check it out so I will get back to you on the results from the female division, and yes I am riding:)

Until next....remember its all about having fun!

Peace~PC

WOW WE SUCK AT THESE!!!

what up guys! sorry none of us have been on here. This is the first blog all of us have done and we forget pretty easy! Thanks for reminding us though!!!

I just got back from the second weekend in a row at Lake Dexter. We had a small group of four both weekends. Young Miss Holly who was there both weekends did so GREAT and I'm super proud of her! Learned two new tricks almost everyday!!! Hard work and practice definitely paid off...

Let's see... Right now it's monday which leaves 4 more days until the FreeRiders ball at Koppert Lake. Weekend after that is the INT events and than the last weekend in August is the NW Novice Championship at Koppert! Big month!!! Most of these events have beginner levels and NW4 will be there with gear most likely...YOU SHOULD COME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just wanna really tell everyone to get out there and try something new! You'll never progress unless you keep trying new things! Remember you can always slow the boat down!!!!!!! This will make things hurt a lot less, help ingrain muscle memory and most importantly improve the probability of you stickin your trick!

Aight, Have fun everybody!
